The Mortified & A Ghost Story Live Readings

Desert Island Theatre Company presents an evening of live readings of new plays in progress at the Beaconsfield Carriage House in Charlottetown on September 19 at 7 pm. Local playwrights and performers Kassinda Bulger and Benton Hartley will share the latest drafts of their new plays, The Mortified and A Ghost Story. In Benton Hartley's The Mortified, brother and sister Aidan and Emma are reunited after years of estrangement. As they reckon with the fallout of the harrowing circumstances that brought them back together, they have no choice but to sift through their shared history to see if there is anything left binding them together aside from their blood. In A Ghost Story by Kassinda Bulger, a specially planned dinner doesn't go quite the way Mallory expects it to, meaning she must come to terms with the fact that everyone has ghosts, even if it means accepting that she might be one too. The evening offers a sneak peek at these new scripts ahead of planned productions in early 2027. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Tickets are by donation at the door. All are welcome.
